Certification in Stepfamily Ministry
We will be presenting our certification course in single-parent and stepfamily ministry at AMFM in August. The course examines the characteristics of single parents and stepfamilies as well as key aspects of ministry development including team building, needs assessment, goal setting, resources, program development and evaluation. Early next year, this training will be available in Tucson. The course will Friday evening and all day Saturday and offered several times each year. Single Parent and Stepfamily Ministry Network
We get calls from various parts of the county looking for counseling or ministry help. InStep has therefore begun the process of identifying and collecting information on local ministries. If you know of a ministry in your “neck of the woods” that would benefit from participating in this network, please email us the contact information.
AMFM Conference
The annual conference of the Association of Marriage and Family Ministries will be at the spectacular Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix, AZ, August 4-8, 2008. Mark your calendars, this is “the event” if you are involved in marriage and family ministry at any level. Jeff and Judi will be exhibiting for Instep and presenting two seminars: The Theology of Divorce and Remarriage and Ministering to Children of Divorce and Remarriage. Jeff and Judi will be leading several weekend intensives next year. The format will be Friday evening and all-day Saturday at a local bed and breakfast and will be limited to six couples per weekend. Local Events
First Annual Single and Single-Parent Conference
October 11th at Pantano Christian Church in Tucson, AZ. This event is for all singles and will feature speakers, break-out sessions, music, food, exhibition booths and opportunities to connect. Chris Danielson of Family Life Radio (Chris and Emily morning show) will be our keynote speaker. This will be “the” event in So. Arizona—don’t miss it. The event is free, child care for a nominal fee will be provided. Booths open at 8:00 AM, conference begins at 9:00 AM til 3:00 PM; with an after conference social gathering. Developing Healthy Relationships
Based on their book, Developing Healthy Relationships, Jeff and Judi and teach an ongoing one-year seminar on key principles for being a healthy single adult. The workshop theme is that personal spiritual and emotional health is the key to healthy relationships. This class is taught monthly at the Equally Yoked offices in Phoenix, AZ. And will be presented this fall at Pantano Christian Church. Everyone is welcome.
Tucson Association of Evangelicals (TAE)
TAE exists to connect local pastors and ministry leaders for encouragement and fellowship. The TAE schedule runs from September through May; meetings are held at First Evangelical Free Church, Gus Bess Pastor and begin at 11:30.
